Shake Shack

Today we are reviewing Shake Shack in River North.

Ruben:
New York's Shake Shack finally made it to Chicago and man are we happy and so is the rest of the city. We usually don't go to chains but we made an exception this time. So I go to Brooklyn at least once a year usually or more because I have family there and I had not even heard of Shake Shack until everybody in Chicago was going crazy about their first location here. So we went there pretty soon after the opening. I walked in seeing all these people in line and I thought oh, this is going to take a long time. But surprisingly it didn't. The service was fast and we were up at the counter ordering in no time at all. I was very impressed. I had the Shack Burger. I thought it was really good. The bun was so good and the Shack Sauce was good too. It was a little too greasy for my taste but other than that it was really good. Their crinkle cut fries have gotten some thumbs up and some thumbs down. I would give them a thumbs up. They're nothing special but I liked them. Shake Shack reminded me so much of Epic Burger which is also a more healthy burger chain. But they only have five or six locations. And they are all in the Chicago Area. I think Shake Shack is a great place and I will definitely be going back soon. I give Shack Shack 4.5 plates.

Shake Shack is an excellent burger chain that had its original location in NYC, but they now have a location in Chicago! I have been to Shake Shack quite a few times. But not this location. I had always eaten their burgers in Brooklyn since I go there to visit friends. But now since they have a location in Chicago I can go here all the time! We all started by getting burgers, and then we ordered fries and shakes. I got the ol' classic ShackBurger. It's a cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato, and Shack Sauce. First of all, the Shack Sauce is brilliant. I don't know what they put in the sauce but it's plain awesome. It reminds me a lot of the Epic Sauce that they serve at Epic Burger. And they're both really good. The buns that they use here at Shake Shack are awesome. They're soft but a little bit crispy. And they're good even if you eat them plain. The crinkle cut fries are good. Not anything special but good. I had heard bad stuff about the Crinkle cut fries in the Chicago Reader. So I was kind of expecting them to be bad, but they were fine. This visit I got the Shack-made Lemonade, which was pretty good. I have also tried their chocolate milkshake. It's really good. Its got a nice creamy texture to it and it's just overall a really good shake. I give Shake Shack 4.5 plates.

I'm glad that Shake Shack finally came to Chicago because I have eaten it in Brooklyn and it was so good that I'm glad I can eat it more often in my own city. I guess it is technically fast food, but it feels nicer than normal fast food. It's cool how they serve the food on these little trays, like baking trays. And they wrap the burgers in little paper bags, but it seems all really nice. I got the Shack burger, with no cheese. As you may know by now, I eat my burgers plain, but that means I am a pretty good judge of the meat and bun. Both of them are good here. We also got an order of fries to share. Many people say they are like cafeteria fries, and they don't like them, but I thought they were good. I have also not had a lot of cafeteria fries to compare them to, so maybe that helps. I got a caramel milk shake, which was really good. They also have these shakes called Concretes, where they mix in things like cake and donuts. There is one that uses Glazed and Infused donuts and one that uses Bang Bang Pie's S'mores Pie. Those could be good too, and it's cool that they use stuff from local places that we already reviewed and like. But I like the regular caramel shake. I give it 4.5 plates for being good and fast and pretty cheap for what you get.

Revolution Brewing

Hello. Today we will be reviewing Logan Square's Revolution Brewery.


Ruben:
Revolution Brewing. I have been wanting to try Revolution Brewing for a year now! and let me say I was impressed. Revolution Brewing is beyond a cool awesome building, great location, and great decor.
lemme talk about the food. i had the Workingman burger. The bun was great. it tasted very fresh. The bacon went very well with the burger. The burger tasted a little too fatty and and my stomach hurt a little after. The fries were okay not amazing but better then average. We also got the soft pretzel for a appetizer and it was very good. it tasted fresh. not much salt and very soft in the middle. also the mustard that it came with, Oh my god. it tasted so good! some of best damn mustard my taste buds have ever tasted. So that's about it for food. but their service was great our waitress was very nice and the food came out in a reasonable time. I give REVOLUTION BREWING 4.5 plates.

Max:
This is a really good place to get a burger, in my opinion. I think that their burgers are the best thing on the menu. I've been going here for a long time. And everything about this restaurant is really cool. You can see the brewery through a large glass that's about half of the restaurant. And the atmosphere is very authentic brewery. We got the Soft pretzel as our appetizer. It was a delicious pretzel. It came with 2 sauces. One was a beer cheese sauce, and the other was a mustard sauce. The cheese sauce was too rich and creamy, and it gave me a small stomach ache. But that might be because i'm not a big fan of beer cheese. The mustard sauce was very good and it went very well with the pretzel. I got the Hombre Burger. It had cheese, poblano peppers, and avocado. It was very good, though I wasn't a huge fan of the poblano peppers. They were a bit smokey and not just my taste. I was impressed with the avocado. It really complemented my burger. My side was a caesar salad. It was about an average caesar salad. And i enjoyed it, but I've had better caesar salads. But anyway, I love Revolution Brewing. and it was delicious. So I rate Revolution Brewing 4.5 plates.

I got a cheddar cheese burger with fries. Their burgers are big and good. They are served on a brioche bun which is toasted, which makes it even more delicious. I couldn't eat the whole thing. Their fries are pretty good, I think they are better than average fries. The pretzel is delicious. Soft and kind of salty, maybe a tiny bit too salty. It comes with a beer cheese sauce which I didn't try. We like to sit in the booths that are upstairs. It's nice because the upstairs is open to the downstairs, you look down on the bar from above. The walls are made out of the wood of old barrels, they are still roundish and make a kind of wavy pattern on the walls. The light fixtures have these cool covers that are made of the metal barrel rings, all crossed to make a globe shape. I like the overall atmosphere of it. There's lots of wood and it feels nice. It's fun to look down into the bar and look at all the pulls of the beer taps, which are all shaped differently and look really cool. Most of them are the Revolution Brewery fists, in all different colors and designs. Overall, I would give them 4 plates.

Hello everyone today will be reviewing the Burger Bar.

Ruben:

Okay this is a good burger place . i got the wild bill a grass fed bison paddy on a pretzel roll served with tomato chutney goat cheese and arugula Mmmmmmm. i loved the burger it's self. and the tomato chutney really complemented it. i got the salad as my side and if you get it get the mustard vinaigrette as your dressing it is phenomenal. i liked the atmosphere of it. our waitress was so nice. very good service. since this was our first time here she explained the menu so that was good. also if you have foursquare there's a deal that on your first time you get free fried pickles so since i had four square we were very happy about that. the only thing that's not the best about this place is it's a little expensive. over all the it was a very good lunch and i would go back.

Max:
I had the hot & smokey stacker burger  it was excellent. though it was a little overpacked with meat. and the proportion was a little too big. it had andouille sausage and shredded pork on top of the beef patty, and shredded cucumber. and even though the stackers were so packed, they were still delicious. and i really loved the side salad with oregano vinaigrette it had a lot of spices in it, and i love spices! the fried pickles were really tasty. none of us had ever tasted them before. they were also a bit hard to eat because the first bite i had, the top half of the breading came off. and the second bite the entire pickle came out. but that was only my experience. our waitress Vanessa was very nice she helped us out with the recommendations. they had a photo booth. (we took pictures in it) and on the wall behind the photo booth there were pictures of all the other people who had came. in the restroom they had signs from many different breweries which was really cool.

Otto:
I chose the "Build Your Own Burger" with bison meat. I kept mine simple. It was really good. The overall design of the restaurant is really nice. We sat in a booth with really tall wood seats. The wall above us was a bunch of chopped up signs lying on top of each other, making a collage. The water glasses had logos of all different breweries on them. I liked the wall near the photo booth. It had a bunch of photo booth picture strips tacked on it.
